Hardware and Components
Manufacturing durable, quality products is a priority at Monumental. Stringent inspection and quality-control measures help to ensure that our windows and doors are free of all defects in material and workmanship that might significantly impair operation or proper usage. This extends to hardware and components. Any hardware or components that are defective in terms of material or workmanship will be corrected or replaced at no cost to the authorized dealer.*
Exclusions to warranty coverage include, but are not limited to: improper installation, accidental damage, and damage caused by structural settlement or material application. Installations by properly licensed contractors and homeowners are covered under our limited lifetime warranty assuming proper installation.
Monumental recommends properly preparing for installation. This includes following industry standards for assembly/installation; procuring appropriate fasteners, flashing, and sealing products; and adhering to factory instructions throughout the installation process. Appropriate maintenance is also required, including regular washing/cleaning and removing debris from sliding door tracks to prolong the longevity of wheels. The warranty is void unless products are installed and maintained according to our published “Protection & Maintenance Guidelines.”
Insulated Glass Systems
Window glass has natural imperfections and is not intended to be flawless. Insulated glass, however, should be free of any defects resulting in the significant obstruction of vision due to film formation. This irksome film is often caused by dust or moisture collecting in the dead air space of the sealed unit. Our systems are warrantied against these types of obstructions, which may include chips, scratches, fingerprints, debris, moisture, distortion, or discoloration. Any defective insulated glass units will be replaced free of charge if discovered within 10 years of installation; after this period, a fee equal to 50% of the glass list price will be charged.*
Monumental does not assume liability for damage that occurs due to improper installation, cracks, or accidental breakage.
Product Finishes
Monumental guarantees that all product finishes will not peel, crack, bubble, chip, or discolor within their respective warranty periods. If significant defects do occur within the applicable warranty period, we will correct or replace the product at no cost. Please note that warranty periods are reduced if installation takes place within 5 miles of corrosive saltwater environments, such as coastal regions. Products installed within 5 miles of saltwater should be periodically washed and cleaned as part of proper maintenance.
