Custom Pivot Doors
This homeowner had a very distinct vision for the entry of this home. Three walls of glass surround the private courtyard, two of which feature our Vari-Slide™ doors with concealed Slim-Trac™. The main entry is a massive sleek pivot door. Directly across the great room is another pivot to the rear patio and additional floor to ceiling windows.
The challenge with these two pivot doors, was that the design called for sizes as large as 5 feet wide x ll feet high. Doors of that magnitude are significantly heavier, and require floor closures for accurate support. However, a floor closure secures directly into a concrete slab. In this case, these doors were designed for the second story of the building, where no concrete is available.
The solution – our design team created a heavy-duty, commercial-grade concealed overhead closure to accurately support the weight of such a Monumental door.
